Yes, it's time to talk about figures, planning and analysing so that you can get the very best out of your business.

Topics include: Profit, identifying your ideal customer, understanding what others are offering, refining your offering, pricing, planning and analysing your business

In this module we're going to be talking about your brand identity or the brand that you're going to give your business. What's a brand? In its simplest terms, your brand is the name given to all the things that help people identify your business. It conveys a feeling of what to expect as a customer, as well as the values and ethos of the business. Simple!

Topics include: exploring brand identity, having a personal brand, creating a business mood board, brand photography, choosing a business name, designing a logo.

Over the years, I've learned to automate many, many tasks in my business that have allowed me to ditch the boring stuff and get on with what I'm good at! It doesn't mean that you have to get rid of paper and pens, find the balance that works for you!

Topics include: cyber security, deciding what to automate, project management, bookkeeping with Xero, custom automations and more!

Getting your head around what you need to know in order to run a successful business can be daunting. How do you know where to look when you don’t even know what you’re looking for? Even if you have your own accountant, knowing what they’re talking about is important!

Topics include: funding your business, your tax obligations, basic accounting, becoming self-employed, keeping records, what you need to pay and who you need to pay it to.

Should you be a sole trader or a limited company? What’s the difference between a CIC and a social enterprise? While I can’t tell you which one you should be, I can explain the differences and point you in the direction of detailed resources that will help you get your head around the pros and cons of each.

Topics include: becoming a sole trader, tax as a sole trader, how to start a limited company, taxes you need to know about as a company, employing other people, how to set up a CIC and more!

This is a forest school specific module that goes through all of the less exciting parts of running a forest school business!

Topics include: finding a site, site agreements, how to get a DBS check when you’re self-employed, insurance, registering with Ofsted (England) or the CIW (Wales), data protection, GDPR, policies and procedures.

This module gives you a rundown of how to plan your website (just like this one!), as well as how to sell your products and services online.

Topics include: domain names, custom email, planning a website, legal things you need on your website, selling online and collecting payments.

Once you’ve got something to sell and you’ve got yourself a website, you’ll need to tell people about it. This is where marketing comes in.

Topics include: what is marketing, understanding your customer, effective selling (without feeling icky or pushy), why people buy, why people’s opinions matter, writing the blurb for your website, mailing lists, how to get people’s emails, advertising.
