Other children are more than welcome, especially girls, we just happened to have two boys to hand

Go Wild Montessori Forest School Kindergarten

Exciting things are happening in the wye valley…

“Let the children be free; encourage them; let them run outside when it is raining; let them remove their shoes when they find a puddle of water; and, when the grass of the meadows is damp with dew, let them run on it and trample it with their bare feet; let them rest peacefully when a tree invites them to sleep beneath its shade; let them shout and laugh when the sun wakes them in the morning as it wakes every living creature that divides its day between waking and sleeping”

- Dr. Maria Montessori, The Discovery of the Child.

The exciting news is that I have bought a 3 acre meadow in Brockweir, in the Wye Valley. Yikes! At the moment I am spending an eyewatering amount of money on ecological surveys so that we know exactly what is on the site and then the project can be planned around this information. Then there will be the joys of going through the planning process and Ofsted registration. It’s a good job I’m not daunted by paperwork!

The ecological surveys will take at least until early next year. All the information I have at this point can be seen here and is subject to change. Nothing will be decided until all the ecology reports have been analysed.

There are hours of paperwork and gallons of coffee ahead but these are exciting times!

We’re not just going to start a kindergarten, we want to create a community.
